This position will coordinate and oversee claims processes for Stock Building Supply. Optimizing cost reductions, improving claim processes and limiting legal exposure relating to the claims process. Job Description:
- Manages in-house auto, G/L and property claims as well as coordinates all incoming claims with claims management services and locations. Ensures all claim issues and protocol are addressed and promptly resolved.
- Provide support and direction to field support associates for any necessary claim troubleshooting and claim processing; including process instructions, return to work, claim updates and workers compensation related questions.
- Regularly engage corporate legal counsel on outstanding claim status, necessary documentation and hearing conference call.
- Negotiates in-house claim settlements within company guidelines and parameters. Providing clear documentation and expedited outstanding claim days open.
- Maintain all corporate claims files. Ensure correct and accurate documentation is in place; including e-mail copies of all first reports, all location-based investigation reports, medical statements and workability information are included and claim filing system properly maintained.
- Research, identify and implement new claims management initiatives, claim processing programs and claims cost reduction strategies.
- Provide procedural support for states requiring manual tracking and reporting. Maintain reporting spreadsheet and log data.
- Proactively partner with the HR and other corporate teams to provide necessary information and data for proper claims management.
- Review and direct any incoming medical bills to appropriate claims management services.
- Acting administrative point of contact for legal correspondence regarding claims. Tracking all mediation dates, trial dates and settlement dates; ensuring deadlines and necessary filing time are met.
- Strategically review and evaluate claim process programs and initiatives; determining optimal claims management programs; analyzing results and feedback, determine corrective protocol and perform regular audits.
- Coordinate claims and accident investigations for Stock Building Supply locations. Evaluating protocol, reviewing accident and injury rates; determining and implementing corrective actions and steps.
- Compile, track and communicate claim trends, on-going issues and cost savings to Safety Team Leadership. Ensure all information is well documented and data is secured in company systems.
- Safety Team’s acting as point of contact for all accident investigations and claims. Coordinating local investigations with Safety Advocates, Location Management and Corporate Safety Team. Ensuring communication of feedback, issues and concerns are surfaced and addressed.
- Provide input and assistance on strategic reviews and insurance negotiations; regularly providing input and insight into providers’ responsiveness to location needs, overall cost savings and corporate-level administrative program support.
- Proactively engage insurance adjusters, Stock’s legal counsel, Safety Team members and experts to ensure proper protocol and procedures are implemented and are performed as standard operating procedure within all Stock locations.
- Report, document and provide sound accident and claim documentation. Ensuring all claim files are completed in a thoroughly, in a timely manner and files are accurate.
- Acting company agent in claims subrogation. Pursuing outside parties deemed responsible for claims to recover monies owed to Stock Building Supply.
- Regularly perform Stock’s Claim Review sessions. Coordinating all parties involved and drive measurable cost savings and protocol changes.
- Maintain and monitor all company claims and risk management informational system. Ensuring up to date information and accurate claims status is maintained.
- Review and audit insurance claims and invoices; collaborating payment efforts with AP team.
Requirements:
- Minimum education required – Bachelors degree in Medical, Risk Management, Health and Safety or related field. Applicable work experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Minimum experience required -5 years experience in claim adjusting, claims management and claims program management/ oversight. Including in-house claims management and all casualty lines
- Certifications – AIC and CWCP preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of legal requirements, regulations and their applications of various states of operations. Proven success in claims cost reduction and claims process management.
- Exceptional organizational, customer service, leadership, decision making and communication skills.
- Intermediate MS Office and Computer skills.
